I thought I was prepared. I’d seen many friends pick this up and then lay it down after 15 pages or so, saying this just really wasn’t for them. But I’ve been the odd one out before, so maybe this could end up working for me! So I finally started my own copy of Anatomy of a Misfit and… well. Let’s say my friends weren’t wrong. The really sad thing about Anatomy of a Misfit is that it’s really trying to prove a (good) point. […]

~Thank you to The Unofficial Book Fan Club for hosting this tour!~ Ooh I don’t even know where to begin with this. Being a total wimp, I found myself underneath the covers while reading this. If you want a book with a creep factor, here is one you want to consider. The opening of this book starts out really well. We are in the perspective a girl who has been murdered and her body is being dragged from the murder scene across an […]

midnight madness newsletter

This meme was created for YA Midnight Reads to showcase upcoming posts and hauls from over the past week ——— Latest Happenings Mel Oh it feels so nice to be doing MMNs again. So yes, I am back from my blogging break and it was seriously so good to just take a step back and read some books that I have been meaning to in ages. Not much has been really happening in the Melanie world,  but I find it a little […]

Back from my hiatus but alas, the first book I read just had to be a disappointing read .-. I think it’s quite apparent that I am a black sheep for Michael Grant’s latest novel. I haven’t actually read anything by this guy before, so I wasn’t absolutely sure what to expect–what I knew was that his Gone series is crazy popular–so I hoped that this one would be just as amazing. Perhaps, it is just as amazing as his Gone series but clearly this book […]

HIIIIII I AM BACK FROM MY BLOGGING HIATUS! When you see us Midnightians posting about the same book in a row, that’s saying something. Do you know what that’s saying? It’s saying: YOU NEED TO HAVE THIS BOOK IN YOUR LIFE BECAUSE IT AS ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT. I mean, sure, I’ve read fabulous books during my 14 (nearly 15!!!) years alive but Dangerous Boys just takes fabulous to the next level. It’s dark and twisted and masterfully written, just like Abigail’s early novel, […]

Discussion by Melanie and Celine *This review is spoiler-free* Melanie: Abigail Haas doesn’t fail us yet again. This is a piece of perfection. YES YES YES. *flails* It was everything I expected plus more. Celine: I have to admit, my expectations were sky high after the masterpiece that was Dangerous Girls. I was a bit worried, because high expectations usually lead to disappointment. But of course I shouldn’t have worried. This is Abigail Haas, after all. Dangerous Boys blew me away. Melanie: Yeah, I had […]

Wow. That was my first thought when I finished Falling Into Place and I have a feeling it’s a thought that will remain for a while. It’s been a while since I’ve read such an incredibly powerful, sad, amazing novel. It manages to give you both a sense of complete hopelessness and hope. It’s a story that will gove you goosebumps because of the way it’s told. Most of all, it’s incredible. Falling Into Place is what I call a “silent” novel. Not because it […]

discussing through midnight

This meme was created for YA Midnight Reads as a discussion post of all things bookish. ——— I have a lot of feelings on this subject but it’s late and this is due to go up in one hour so this may not be as well written or though provoking as I intended. It’s probably going to be jumbled opinionated mess.  I really need to stop doing these things last minute as they just put more pressure on myself lol. That’s little […]
