Three teens venture into the abandoned lake house one night; hours later, only two emerge from the burning wreckage. Chloe drags one Reznick brother to safety, unconscious and bleeding; the other is left to burn, dead in the fire. But which brother survives? And is his death a tragic accident? Desperate self-defense?

Or murder?

Chloe is the only one with the answers. As the fire rages, and police and parents demand the truth, she struggles to piece together the story of how they got there-a story of jealousy, twisted passion, and the darkness that lurks behind even the most beautiful of faces…

When you see us Midnightians posting about the same book in a row, that’s saying something. Do you know what that’s saying? It’s saying:

I mean, sure, I’ve read fabulous books during my 14 (nearly 15!!!) years alive but Dangerous Boys just takes fabulous to the next level. It’s dark and twisted and masterfully written, just like Abigail’s early novel, Dangerous Girls. These two books stand right up there in my Favourite YA list. I read Dangerous Girls, which was equally as thrilling last year and to this day, there isn’t a week that goes by that I haven’t thought about it at least once.

No kidding.

It’s like me and my love for the Percy Jackson series, I just cannot get it out of my head. So if you want a book that will stick in your head for like, EVER, Dangerous Boys is your book. And of course, read Dangerous Girls while you’re at it because it’s just that good.

Here’s a little story: When Abigail Haas contacted me a while ago about reading and reviewing her latest novel, I nearly felt like saying: WHY ARE YOU EVEN ASKING? IS THAT EVEN A QUESTION? OF COURSE I WILL READ IT. IF YOU SENT ME AN EMAIL WITH JUST YOUR BOOK ATTACHED I WOULD HAVE READ IT.

So I did. And as you can tell, I fell in love with it just like I did with Dangerous Girls.

Early Praise

“Dangerous Boys is a taut, compelling thriller balanced on the razor’s edge of suspense. I could not put it down, and could not stop grinning wickedly as I raced through the pages.” — Leah Raeder, USA Today bestselling author of Unteachable

“Abigail Hass is a master at her craft! This is a special book and a special author. This is the kind of storytelling and writing that stick with you no matter how much time passes.” — The Book Geek Blog

“As with Dangerous Girls, the closing left me with a huge, admittedly rather twisted smile on my face. I don’t know how Haas manages to turn me into such a gleefully evil creature.” — Dahlia Adler, blogger.

“Dangerous Boys was an intense, psychological read which was full of suspense and drama,…Abigail Haas has a way of writing books which reel you in and keep you there, hooked and addicted until the very last page.” —

If you missed it, here is our discussion review on Dangerous Boys that went up yesterday!

  1. Well, I could be wrong, but I think you love these books and I should read them. Am I close? I started Dangerous Girls on Monday, but then Robin Williams died and I kinda was a bit depressed and I didn’t feel like reading a heavy book like that. I’ll pick it up in a few days, promise! Thanks for making the giveaway international. 🙂

I want to find out if it was actually murder

  3. Me, too, Mel! I think of Dangerous Girls and Dangerous Boys up to this day, and this author is seriously one of those kinda authors that are forces to reckon with. She is such a literary genius when it comes to this genre. I mean, I’ve read so many books in the same genre, but nearly none of them have the kind of well-placed suspense that Abigail Haas can put in her works.
