Latest Happenings

Greetings! It’s been a pretty busy week on the blog, we’ve managed to post every single day of the week πŸ˜€ Bad news is that I’ve come down with a cold. I have a killer headache and a terrible blocked nose that is not helping me to sleep at all. πŸ™

But this week is going to be AWESOME. On Monday, I’m going to PTA Live Melbourne in Melbourne Central. If you’re going, tell me because I would LOVE to meet you! On Tuesday, I’m going to watch Divergent and have lunch with some of my friends from my old school. I can’t wait to see them again πŸ™‚ And on Thursday, I’m going to the Jessica Shirvington book event at Dymocks! If you’re going to that, do tell >.<

Also, I’m trying to work out how all of us (Celine, Larissa and I) can do this wrap up post together. Probably will do some formatting changes here and there.

The TakingBLURGH. Boring book. I reviewed this yesterday.

Book of the Week

The Chapel WarsThis one sounds absolutely brilliant and cute. I’m still trying to work out who the Australian publisher for this one is.

  1. I was wondering if there’d be anyway of getting Celine and Larissa’s updates too because I only really see them around on reviews and discussions, so it’d be quite fun if that could happen, but that’s a personal preference. I’m excited to see what you thought of Tease, I tried it myself and we were not friends, so it’d be good to get another view of it. I also need to get round to to Everneath soon, the series is complete so now I can read away, when I get the sequels that is. Great week gone and a great one to come! πŸ˜€

Thanks for your opinion, Amanda! I should have made it with all three of us ages ago but I never had the time before school holidays to arrange it. I ended up really liked Tease!

  2. OHHH, I can’t WAIT to know what you think of The Winner’s Curse! You guys are some of my favourite reviewers ever. No joke. x) And stupid me absolutely hated Don’t Even Think About It. Gah. >_< Shouldn't have requested that one. (You were riiiight.)

Loving the new layout! Dark World sounds good, and I’m looking forward to your stop on the PoNaF blog tour. Loved that book. πŸ™‚ That sucks about The Taking…none of Derting’s books seem to work for me except the Pledge trilogy. That one was awesome!

  8. I’m curious to see what you think of The Winner’s Curse, Mel, as I found the hype worked against my enjoyment of the book (though I hope that’s not the case for you)! Anna and the French Kiss is a favorite contemporary of mine and I’m really interested in the Break-Up Artist as it looks quite good. Wonderful haul, dear, and happy ending! πŸ™‚

  9. The three of you doing this post would be fun, but I can see how it might be difficult. You could always keep the main items the same, like what’s coming up this week, but switch weeks on WHO posts so you can share the individual new books you got since the last time you posted. Just a thought. πŸ™‚

I really want to read The Winner’s Curse now too based on all I’ve heard!

  11. You do have a fun week ahead. I actually ended up liking the Divergent movie, but I couldn’t remember the book very well, they definitely changed up a few things, Four is hot though. Ahh the Taking was a bore… that is too bad. I am eagerly trying to get to The Winner’s Curse as well.

The Winner’s Curse!!!! <3 <3 <3 Oh my gosh, I hope you love it. Fantastic book. I basically read it in a day. I'm sad you didn't like The Taking though. It seems like such an interesting concept and different from some other things out there. I just acquired Anna and the French Kiss. It looks so cute. I really need to get back into reading…
