What’s Been Happening Lately

Hi guys! It’s school holidays for me so I’ll be around much much more in terms of posting, twitter and commenting on other blogs–you’ll be sick of me by the end of the 2.5 weeks that I have off, lol.

Anyway, I had a pretty quiet week once again though I did have a little frenzy last Sunday on Edelweiss, ehehe. ๐Ÿ˜€

And the best news of the week: I BROKE AWAY FROM MY READING SLUMP!! So very happy about that >.<

I also totally failed my end of term tests (well I know I failed one of them, because damn I did crap) but the others I think I did okay. Fingers crossed!

ย Just Finished Reading

The Forever SongTo be honest, pretty disappointed with this one. I am going to be discussing this with Larissa shortly and a discussion review will be posted sometime soon.

Book of the Week:

DisruptionI’d be out of my mind if I didn’t choose this one for this week’s book of the week. Totally saved me from a horrid slump. I gave this 4 stars.

Coming Up this Week:

– Review of Bound by M. J. Stevens

– Review of Don’t Call Me Baby by Gwendolyn Heasley

– Review of Looking For Alibrandi by Melina Marchetta

– Discussing Through Midnight (29)

– Discussion Review of The Forever Song By Julie Kagawa

  1. Noooo, don’t tell me the Forever Song was bad. Dang it.

I bet you did just fine on your exams. I always feel like I failed mine but I never do.

    OMG, 2.5 weeks off? Jealous.

  2. I’m so sorry you were disappointed by the Forever Song, Melanie! I’ve seen several other bloggers who didn’t enjoy it, but I actually did love it. I would totally love a Jackal spin-off, though. He’s the best bad vampire I’ve read about in a long time, and his one-liners are hilarious.

I hope you’ll have a good time off now, and I’m sure your exams went well. I have several papers to hand in and a test in the next two weeks, too, but then, I’ll have 1.5 weeks off – which is something I am truly looking forward to.

    I hope you’ve had a great weekend.

  3. There’s just SOMETHING about The Dolls that has me totally hooked. I think it’s the creepy factor. Because being sufficiently creeped out of your brain is a great way to spend a weekend reading, right?! *ahem* YAY FOR HOLIDAYS. Mime isn’t on holidays for another week…soo I’m still lonely while I wait. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  4. I’m sure you did really well in your exams Mel, everyone always thinks they’ve flopped them, it’s how we work. I’m going to be starting the Blood of Eden trilogy this year, so looking out for your review and thoughts on the Forever song may push me to consider it better, although I’m sorry you didn’t like it more. That cover for Inside Out is gorgeous, I’ve never seen it before, and well done for getting out of your slump, here’s to more reading!

sorry you were disappointed in the Kagawa book, not as good as the others for me but I really liked it. Enjoy your new books, happy reading!

Oh, I’m sorry you didn’t love The Forever Song ๐Ÿ™ Nick really enjoyed it. Seems like you either love or dislike this one since I’ve seen polarized opinions. Whoop! I got the gorgeous Scarlet paperback as well:) I hope you enjoy all your new pretties, Mel!

  8. Sorry to hear you were disappointed with The forever song. It seems to be getting mixed reviews, I really loved it though. SCARLET <3 SO GOOD! Lady thief might be even better. I love the cover from In a handful of dust and I like the sound of feral & don't touch. I might get them from Edelweiss if I've finished all my other review books. Happy reading!

  9. Can’t wait to read your Forever Song discussion. I really enjoyed it and it wrapped up so everyone would be happy, but it dragged on. It didn’t feel like there was any new content in there, just the same story rehashed with a bit more whinging and angst mixed in. I’m another one who’d love to see a Jackal spin off series, in the end, he was the only one with a personality.

Nice haul this week, I haven’t heard of quite a few of your new reads, but heading onto Goodreads to check them out.
