What’s Been Happening Lately

Hi guys! This week has been pretty uneventful everything-wise apart from the fact that I am totally obsessed with Teen Wolf and legitimately have no life now. So that’s always great.

I also had to write a short story for my English class and totally failed because I went over the word limit which was 880 words and wrote 1017 words instead. I tried so hard, but I’m just to verbose.

Other than that, I didn’t get a really big haul this week, but did get a few gems off NetGalley.

Just Finished Reading

Half BadA ‘half bad’ book. A lot of people on my review for it made that joke/pun  in the comments lol.

Book of the Week:

To All The Boys I've Loved BeforeI do like Jenny Han’s Burn for Burn series and this one sounds absolutely cute and fun. Planning on pre-ordering this one soon!

Coming Up this Week:

– Review of Salvage by Alexandra Duncan

– Review of Side Effects May Vary by Julie Murphy

– Review of Sea of Shadows by Kelly Armstrong

– Discussing Through Midnight (27)

Reviews on the Blog:

The Kite Runner: I’ve heard some great things about this novel, really excited about owning this.

Disruption: LOOK AT THE PRETTINESS. IT’S GOOOLD.

Camp Boyfriend: Some of my bloggy friends enjoyed this one last year so I thought I may as well give it a go since it’s up on Netgalley.

Camp Payback: Reading this one if I enjoy the first instalment.

Deep Blue: I really need to read a good mermaid book. Fingers crossed for this one!

The Break-Up Artist: I will either love this or hate this, I am certain.

The Forever Song: ERMAHGERD. However–have seen some disappointed people. *bites nails*

Deep Blue and Disruption have caught my eye. Jenny Han always gets the best covers, doesn’t she? Sorry your latest read was a bit disappointing.

You’ve got The Kit Runner!! That’s so amazing and I truly hope you’ll enjoy it. I loved it and while it’s really emotional it’s worth your time. Also I cannot wait to see what you think of The Forever Song. I’m a bit torn about it. Great haul, girl 🙂

I read TKR in college and it really blew me away! Recently saw the movie which imo was just as good. Hope you enjoy!

I’m a bit nervous about starting HB, it’s received so many mixed reviews.

  6. Oooo, I have Deep Blue too, I plan on reading it next month, it sounds like nothing I’ve ever read before, so I’m excited. It’s sometimes good to have a quiet week, and I’m glad you’ve been enjoying Teen Wolf Mel, I’ve been all over my gaming this week, so it’s good to have a break from reading and once again, establishing that we have no life whatsoever, woo!
I’m pretty excited for All the Boys as well, so do pre-order! 😀

    Melanie! It’s been a while! 🙂

So glad that you’re still posting things, what with the three-hour train rides to and from school. O_O Seriously, no idea how you’re able to blog, read, do homework, come home, watch Teen Wolf nearly 24/7 (you’ve been tweeting about it a lot ;P) all in one day. And yup, welcome to the “My Life is Boring” club. I just realized that apart from studying, I have literally no life at all, because I’ve put blogging on hold. Eh.

Anyway! I can’t wait to see what you think of Salvage and The Forever Song! I’ve got those two in my Kindle as well, but I don’t think I’ll be getting to them soon. It’s KILLING me not being able to read The Forever Song. I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS. *flail* That’s why I haven’t been reading up on any reviews for it because I’m so excited.

Hope you have a great week! 😀

  9. I just saw Half Bad in our local bookstore. Didn’t know the finished copy was so tiny, haha! I might read it soon, though, but I’m kinda scared of the second person POV parts. .___. Teen Wolf… Might have to try that. 😉 As for the books, I just finished The Forever Song and was a biiiiit disappointed in the beginning to the middle parts, but I loved the ending and all the gore-y scenes! Happy reading, Mel! <33

  11. Ooh Camp Boyfriend looks really good I’m excited to see what you think of it! Also The Forever Song has been getting iffy reviews so I don’t know if I”m going to go out and buy this one when it comes out since I can’t request it. I hope you like it though! Jenny Han’s new book looks SO cute too 🙂

  18. Sounds like it’s been a good week! I’ve heard a lot of different things about Half Bad. And, now you mention it, the Jenny Han one as well.

So many people have said how shiny the cover of Disruption is 😛 it’s beautiful!

  19. I am so excited for Deep Blue. I hate word limits on short stories. I always went over and I just let the grade be whatever it was going to be because I can’t take away from a story.

I’m definitely going to try Deep Blue after it comes out. It sounds really good but mermaids aren’t really my thing. I’m really excited about The Forever Song! It’s going to be great!

  23. I was approved for The Break-Up Artist, so yeah, same here, we either like it or otherwise. Someone posted a spoiler about Teen Wolf season 3 for me. GAH! I am halfway though the series. I hate seeing spoilers. Damn Tumblr! Oh well, have a great week!
