Bonjour tout le monde! (I think that’s not exactly correct but hey, I used Google Translate.) Moving on, many of you were all: “Ooh, mystery announcement? TELL ME NOW ERMAHGERD.” when I mentioned it in my Midnight Madness post. But to be completely honest, it’s not that big of an announcement. But still one that is pretty important and exciting for Celine, Larissa and I.

I’ve been pretty lame lately, haven’t done a lot of blog commenting, not around much on Twitter, not reading as many books as my previous year. Allll because of homework. *glares at pile of work books next to me* BUT, I am hoping to give YA Midnight Reads a complete makeover! Us Midnightians (I think I have to think of a different name but that will do for now) have been discussing and brainstorming a few ideas of what we’d like and we are all pretty darn pumped! I am thinking of definitely going with a lighter look, but it will still be true to the name, YA Midnight Reads, and still have a ‘midnight’ feel to it, hopefully. 😀 But yes, I’m getting a little bored after my design even though it looks fab, but it’s been a little over a year now, time for a fresh look!

The designer we are going with is Livia @ Butterfly-O-Meter Designs and yes, she is the designer of the current design. I did go snooping around, asking a few people here and there but I think the person that I have complete confidence in is Livia. If you are looking for a designer who has manageable prices and easy to communicate with, she is your chick to go to!

Anyway, must go tackle my homework and then get some sleep! Talk soon! <33

xoxo Mel

I saw on Twitter that you’re feeling ill right now and plus you have the school stuff so be sure to get better *sends hot chocolate* and let the life get in the way of blogging, it should never be vice versa:) Get better soon, sweets!

  13. I love blog makeovers! They are so fun. I was getting tired of mine last year but I really love my header so I went with a different blog layout instead and I think it made a huge difference and was exactly what I was looking for. WP has so many beautiful Genesis themes. Looking forward to the new blog look ladies 🙂

  16. I can’t wait to see your new design! I’ve been feeling super underwhelmed by my theme recently, as well, and I’ve also been feeling really bleh about blogging and stuff in general (and I was even considering stopping by the end of this year), so I definitely know what you mean. Livia is a doll and she’s so great at what she does! Definitely looking forward to your new theme, Mellybean! 😀 😀

I do like the look of your blog, but I understand the need for change too. Some things I like is that although you have a darker design, it’s easy to read because the purple is just light enough. I also like that you have an easy to read font. I think the design matches you and your blog title, but I bet the new one will just as well. I can’t wait to see it!

BTW, I’m moving to wordpress at the end of the month and I’ll have a TOTALLY different look. It’s for real, WAY different! I’m excited but people are probably going to wonder if they landed in the wrong place at first!
