I really don’t know where to start with this review, this book has left me with so many emotions and things to discuss. Let’s hope I can turn this review into comprehensible sentences that showcase my love for this story on the level it deserves. Stolen Songbird stands out to me from any other books I’ve read in quite a long time. It features a mythical creature I don’t believe I’ve read about in YA  before: trolls.  Trolls are monstrous, deformed, dangerous […]

This meme was created for YA Midnight Reads to showcase upcoming posts and hauls from over the past week. What’s been happening lately… Heeey guys! I am back from camp! It actually was not that bad, made some friends and got to know everyone better. I am really excited about tomorrow because I’ll be rocking by at my old school to see my old friends! I miss them a lot 🙁 Anyway, it was Valentine’s Day on Friday! How was it for […]

discussing through midnight

This meme was created for YA Midnight Reads as a discussion post of all things bookish. ——— Hey guys! Today it’s Celine, because Mel is at a school camp and I love doing discussion posts, even though I suck at coming up with topics. Recently I’ve been thinking about how much my reading habits have changed, so I decided to discuss this with all of you! I do find that reviewing and blogging have changed the way I read quite a lot. […]

Faking Normal is a sensitive, sad and hopeful novel. It deals with heavy topics, but the main focus was what Alexi – our main character – was dealing with. Since the synopsis doesn’t say what exactly this was, I will consider it a spoiler and warn you whenever I’ll talk about it! While I knew from the beginning what it was, I wouldn’t want to spoil anyone. SPOILERS. The thing I loved most about Faking Normal was the way it handled rape. It’s a […]

~Thank you Allen and Unwin Australia for hosting this tour!~ I have Brigid Kemmerer on the blog with an interview! Click here for my review of Secret. If you couldn’t be an author, what would your ideal career be? What’s funny is that I’m already doing it: I work in finance full time by day. I love working with people and numbers and I have a great day job. If you could trade places with any other writer for a week, famous […]

Grim is an anthology written by some great YA authors. The short stories that make up it are all fairy tale retellings. I enjoyed all of them to a point, with the exception of one. Some of the stories were a little bit more enjoyable and memorable than others though. Therefore, I will give a quick review of each to showcase my feelings towards each story. The Key By Rachel Hawkins,  a retell of Bluebeard I wasn’t sure of what to expect with Rachel, […]

I’m going to try to keep this nice and clear. Do not bother with this book. That is the best and only advice I can give you. But why Mel? It looks soooo good! The characters.  Haden Lord has a pretty crappy life in the Underrealm. He’s disowned by his father, despised by his twin brother and shunned by everyone else. However, when King Ren (his father) seeks out the help of the Oracle to see who is most fitting to go on […]

midnight madness newsletter

This meme was created for YA Midnight Reads to showcase upcoming posts and hauls from over the past week. What’s been happening lately… Hey everyone! This was the first week of YA Midnight Reads officially being co-blogged, which was pretty cool! I felt much more at ease with the fact that I had awesome people working with me and it’s great to have different voices to the blog as well. Talking about co-blogging, my co-blog, Finding Bliss in Books is hosting a […]
