midnight madness newsletter
This meme was created for YA Midnight Reads to showcase upcoming posts and hauls from over the past week.

For my first week of school holidays, they were rather productive and fun. I recently saw Monsters University with my friends and trust me people, no disappointment here! Loved every bit of it. Also, I have noticed that ever since the 1st of July, I have read a book a day, and pretty much reviewed a book a day. *wipes sweat* It meant A LOT of late night sleeps. (I may have slept at 4am in the morning one day… not even reading, just watching My Little Pony…)
On another note, I am planning to make a new meme based on discussions and maybe having an author pop up once rarely with a guest post of whatever post topic I choose. But of course, I will be writing majority of the posts, I’ll see when I want an author up. The reason why I decided to create this post was because now that I’m posting a review a week at Finding Bliss in Books, as well as at least 3 reviews here and 2 memes, that leaves 2 days of nothing. And I really do not want to be only posting 5 days a week so from now on, Saturdays will be a discussion related post! I am still thinking of a name for this meme, but all I have is DISCUSSING THROUGH MIDNIGHT. If you have any other ideas, (that are not as corny as mine) leave a comment! Otherwise, y’all will have to deal with a cornyish name for the rest of my blogging time.
Just Finished Reading…
A word to describe this novel would be: _____
Yeah, nothing. I am all over the place about this novel right now, Celaena was relatively likeable after some time warming up to her- her humour was greatly appreciated but she was awfully arrogant, and not as kick-ass as I would’ve appreciated. I’m thinking a 3.5 to 4 stars currently. Oh and TEAM CHAOL ALL THE WAY
Book of the Week:
Everyone, this Aussie YA contemp is something that everyone needs to read at least once in their life. Fiona Wood’s prose is beautiful and utterly engrossing. A book with many messages and dark elements, I gave this baby 5 stars. (For link of my reivew, see below)

For Review:

~A Huge Library Haul This Week!~
Thank you HarperCollins Australia, Xpresso Book Tours, Leah Speigel and Megan Summers and HarlequinTeen Australia!
Indelible: The cover is drop dead gorgeous and the synopsis intrigued me. However, I’ve seen many DNF’s of this already and apparently two of the characters’ names are Ink and Inq. WHAT THE HELL.
Asylum: I heard that this is similar to Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children which I heard many fabulous things about.
All The Truth That’s In Me: I am so so excited for this one. People are saying that the writing is difficult (which I don’t mind) but the atmosphere is creepy and addictive. Definitely one I have high hopes for.
Uninvited: I got this one from the two lovely ladies that wrote this novel as I will have a tour stop (which is hosted by Giselle @ Xpresso Book Tours) Sounds like a cute murder mystery. And also, it’s signed!
Perfect Chemistry: The hype is ridiculously crazy so I ended up giving in. The idea sounds awfully typical though.
Boy Nobody: I’ve seen many positive reviews from my bloggy friends on this one and the title kinda just made me must read this- no matter how much I think I’ll freak out by the creepiness.
Imaginary Girls: Simply had to borrow this one after reading Seventeen & Gone as I LOVED it. The Goodreads rating is awfully low which bugs me as I know that Imaginary Girls won’t disappoint. There are too many blind readers out there. *sighs* The writing…
The Courtney Summers Books: Borrowed them all for the same reason. Jenni @ Alluring Reads’ reviews for her books were so tempting. I am planning to read them by publication date, consecutively. So it shall be a Courtney Summers reading spree!
Burn for Burn: Sweet revenge sounds quite interesting. Also, I feel like reading something light and fun.
My Sister’s Keeper: My mother has been telling me that I should read less as she says that I’ll need glasses. (To think this time last year she was the one nagging me to read books! *huffs*) So I saw the LARGE PRINT edition at the library and decided to borrow it and shove it in her face. “Is this better?”
Blood Promise: I really need to move my butt along so I can catch up to reading The Fiery Heart withe y’all. I’m not completely invested but I don’t want to be out of the loop.
Such a Rush: Yeah… I said I wasn’t going to read an Echols book after the fail Dirty Little Secret turned out to be but I really want to see if this lady has potential.
Dreamless: Starcrossed, as I remember, I gave a 4. That was last year when I wasn’t much of a critical person so I am eager to see if my opinion of this series.

I definitely liked Vampire Academy better than the new spin off series, but I guess I read it first! The Perfect Chemistry series is quite similar to Pushing the Limits and SE uses humour like a weapon, which is great (here How To Ruin series had me in stitches!). Hadn’t realised people were having trouble with Indelible, I hope I like it, I pre-ordered. The cover’s pretty on your ARC! 🙂 Well done for being so productive, but get some sleep this summer!

  2. Jasprit says:

I loved This is not a Test, it was one of my favourite reads from last year, I definitely need to pick up the rest of Summers book asap! Also Burn for Burn was a great book too, it had an extra element which I didn’t expect, I started reading the sequel Fire with Fire the other day and I really can’t stop crying! I think I’m definitely loving it more than the first book. I hope you enjoy all your reads Melanie! 🙂

  3. Yeaaaaaaah, team Chaol as well! This is not a test was very, very good and I can’t wait for Asylum. Such a creepy cover 😀 Happy reading Mel!

  4. Renu says:

I have been meaning to pick up Boy Nobody! I have heard nothing, but good things about it. Ooh, Asylum seems so creepy, love the cover! South Hill’s Sidekicks Uninvited sounds cute! *goes to look up on GR* Amazing haul. <3

  5. Rachel says:

I have All the Truth That’s in Me and I hope we both enjoy it! Such a Rush was a win for me, but not my favorite Echols. I’ve been hearing so many disappointing things on her newer writing that I’m scared to pick up anything from her. I loved Forget You. I haven’t read Throne of Glass but I have the book. I wonder if I’ll be disappointed because of all the hype. Looks like you weren’t “wowed”. Awesome haul here, Melanie! Enjoy your reads! 🙂

  6. You got some great books this week, Melanie! I hope you enjoy SUCH A RUSH a bit more than me. I look forward to seeing what you think of it! Also…PLEASE review MY SISTER’S KEEPER. The movie sucked, but that book…I love it.

  7. Lyn Kaye says:

This Is Not a Test…..plain awesome! I hope you read it soon!

  8. I’ve heard so many amazing things about Throne of Glass. I’m so glad you enjoyed it. All The Truth That’s In Me also sounds great! Enjoy all your books, Melanie 🙂

I haven’t read all the books mentioned above except ‘Imaginary Girls’ ! U have gotten some lovely books for urself !
I believe the writing is good in ‘Imaginary Girls’ but the book was a bit slow moving at times and well I didn’t like it because of the ending which I am not gonna spoil for u !

  10. Amelia K says:

Awesome haul! I look forward to your discussion posts. 😉

  11. Chloe Lee says:

Great Haul! I love seeing what Ausie covers look like because they are so different from the ones that we have in the US. And I think that your name for your new meme is cute not corny 🙂 AND
